So, in general, I love to see the roads in my area get updated and all the associated annoyances that go along with said updates; traffic being backed up while a road is repaved, detours while roads are widened and straightened, and the lovely smells of bit and fresh asphalt.

I happen to have the pleasure of living on a fairly busy state road / highway, which is in the process of being repaved tonight. While I am really glad that the powers that be have decided to pave "my" road, I would have been much happier about it if they had decided to pave the road during the day time.

Until the vibratory rollers started compacting the asphalt, I didn't realize they were working tonight (this morning). It was definitely interesting to be awoken from a sound sleep by your home vibrating. It was / is an interesting experience, having your whole home and body vibrating as if standing in front of a huge sub-woofer.

Now, since the road crew woke me up and they have only done one lane of a two lane road, there seemed no reason to try to go back to sleep. I figured I was up anyway and not too coherent, so I thought what the heck, let's tell the world about it. :-)
